I'm O.T.L. Finesse, an independent hip-hop artist/rapper from Jackson, Mississippi, creating in the gangster hip-hop/rap style. My music reflects my experiences growing up in Jackson's tough environment, blending unfiltered truths with confidence and boldness.
In 2022, I released my debut single, "Pop My Sh*t," which quickly established me as a unique up-and-coming rapper in Jackson. The track resonated with the hip-hop and rap communities, earning me the respect of Northside Cornbread. Recognizing my potential, he took me under his wing as a Trill Entertainment affiliate, teaching me the executive aspects of the music business.
In 2020, I founded my own independent label, "O.T.L." (Off The Land), dedicated to releasing music that celebrates both the struggles and triumphs that come from humble origins. O.T.L. My name is Jarrett, and I am an R&B singer and songwriter from Gulfport, Mississippi.
Born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi, I grew up performing in church plays and choirs, often singing solo. My involvement in school talent shows and plays, along with joining the choir in elementary and high school, further nurtured my passion for music.
I began writing songs early in life, and I learned to express heartfelt emotions through music. Whether I am given a beat or a tune, I can quickly create a chorus. Music provides an escape, and my goal is to help others find the same relief through my songs, inspiring them to do good in life. Over the past two years, I have independently created more than 50 musical works, including both released and unreleased tracks.
My first EP, "May I Introduce Myself," was available on streaming services for about three months. I continually challenge myself to improve the quality and lyrical concepts of my music. This led to my first studio single, "CASANOVA," which garnered 5,000 streams in its first month.
At the time of its release, I had zero monthly listeners on Spotify, and "CASANOVA" boosted that number to 200 monthly listeners with just one release.
I developed an innovative music concept involving time travel. Over the course of a year, I created a short album titled "The Time Traveler," capturing the essence of excellent music across various genres and time periods.
